Med Surg RN (Full-Time, Nights)

About the role

This position involves providing direct patient care in a critical access hospital with a 34-bed Medical/Surgical unit. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within established standards. The nurse promotes patient-centered care, educates patients and families, and participates in safety, quality, and compliance activities. Develops individualized care plans collaboratively, considering physical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs. The role requires working in a safe manner, demonstrating critical nursing skills, and maintaining professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care including assessments and planning
• Educate patients and families on managing their health post-discharge
• Participate in quality improvement, safety, and regulatory activities
• Develop and communicate individualized care plans
• Assess patient needs holistically, respecting diversity and cultural considerations

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Licenses: Valid RN license
• Experience: No prior experience necessary; 2+ years preferred for higher levels
• Skills: Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking abilities; ability to work safely and collaboratively
