Role Overview This position involves providing direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards. The nurse promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management and post-treatment needs, and participates in activities that ensure patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include developing and documenting individualized care plans, collaborating with the healthcare team, and assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient values and barriers. The role requires working in a safety-sensitive environment with alertness and safety awareness.
