Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests
• Takes blood pressure, weight, and temperature
• Reports patient history summary
• Cleans exam rooms and obtains lab specimens
• Selects appropriate equipment for specimen collection
• Verifies specimen orders according to department policy
• Prepares exam rooms for patient encounters
• Aids in the coordination of front office functions
• Performs electrocardiograms and other relevant tests
• Documents medical information in electronic medical records
• Coordinates with front office personnel and ancillary staff
• Performs injections and subcutaneous/intramuscular injections
• Performs other selected clinical and clerical duties as directed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by NHA, CAHEA, ABHES, or a recognized accrediting agency
• Maintain current certification from AAMA, NCCT, AMCA, NAHP, NCMA, or AMT
• AHA BLS certification

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.32 - $24.13 per hour, with actual compensation varying based on hours worked and position status.
