Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking vital signs, and reporting patient history.
  • Cleans exam rooms and obtains lab specimens.
  • Aids physicians and other staff members as needed.
  • Selects appropriate equipment for specimen collection and verifies specimen orders.
  • Prepares exam rooms for patient encounters and assists Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIPs) as requested.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of supplies and relevant forms for testing and documents medical information in electronic medical records.
  • Performs clerical duties such as patient registration, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records.
  • Performs electrocardiograms and other relevant tests, following established policies and procedures, and adheres to universal precautions.
  • Verifies patient information through interviews and records medical history, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Coordinates with front office personnel and ancillary staff, maintaining a professional and positive demeanor.
  • Assists in front office functions, including checkout/in duties, claim creation, and discharge paperwork.
  • Performs injections and other duties as directed by a provider and manager.
  • Performs other selected clinical and clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by a recognized body.
  • Current certification from a recognized certifying body.
  • AHA BLS certification.

The pay range for this position is $19.32 - $24.13 per hour, with actual compensation varying based on hours worked and position status.
