Mechanic

Position Description

Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and making required repairs to this equipment; installing and dismantling all equipment, welding, pipe fitting, and other work as required. Responsible for general mechanics, pneumatics and power transmission equipment and repairs as it relates to wire and cable equipment; operating lathes, milling machines, drill presses and other machine shop equipment without direction.

Will perform preventive maintenance procedures, 5S activities and participate in continuous improvement events. Must maintain work area in a safe and orderly condition at all times. Ensure all products meet requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems. Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines.

Will be required to work overtime or different schedules when required and on short notice. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management.

• Must be able to work independently according to verbal and written instructions.
• Must learn basic computer transactions and inputs; must have ability to become certified SAP User.
• Must have basic math and communication skills.
• Must develop and maintain proficiency in required job skills.
• Must be capable of lifting or moving 50 lbs. and occasionally lifting or moving 75 lbs.
• Must be able to distinguish different colors.

Pay & Benefits

• Pay Rate: $30.30 - $36.19
• $2,500 Stay Bonus ($1,250 after 6 months; $1,250 after 1 year)

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English
• Some manufacturing experience preferred or demonstrated mechanical ability in an manufacturing environment preferred
• Must complete OJT for specific job classification, as required, in a timely manner
