Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on company vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, skid steers, pavers, rollers)
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Complete repairs including engine work, brake systems, electrical wiring, hydraulic components, and preventive maintenance
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts inventory logs
  • Order parts, supplies, and materials needed for repairs
  • Operate diagnostic tools and equipment safely and effectively
  • Ensure shop area and tools are clean, organized, and maintained
  • Auxiliary with emergency repairs in the field as needed
  • Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and operators about equipment status and repairs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably in construction or heavy equipment
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools and hand/power tools
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus
  • ASE certifications or vocational training preferred but not required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed

  • Operating machinery and/or power tools: Constantly
  • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment: Occasionally
  • Frequent overtime, including weekends: Constantly
  • Office environment: Rarely
