Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on company vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, skid steers, pavers, rollers)
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and recommend corrective actions
- Complete repairs including engine work, brake systems, electrical wiring, hydraulic components, and preventive maintenance
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts inventory logs
- Order parts, supplies, and materials needed for repairs
- Operate diagnostic tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Ensure shop area and tools are clean, organized, and maintained
- Auxiliary with emergency repairs in the field as needed
- Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and operators about equipment status and repairs
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably in construction or heavy equipment
- At least 18 years of age
- Strong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools and hand/power tools
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus
- ASE certifications or vocational training preferred but not required
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
