Position Overview
To support the maintenance needs, both mechanical and electrical, of Operations and Production in the standard conditions, including troubleshooting and repair, preventative and predictive maintenance. Responsible for maintaining and repairing production/processing equipment to reduce machine-related downtime, eliminate losses, and improve machine reliability. To coach Production Technicians and junior Maintenance Technicians to develop skills and to resolve maintenance issues.
Responsibilities
- Act as an emergency brigade for fires, searches, and/or evacuations as required.
- Perform mechanical and electrical duties of a complex nature including performing breakdown analysis, basic and major equipment rebuilds, advanced mechanical & intermediate electrical troubleshooting, advanced equipment adjustments, mechanical and electrical maintenance (both planned and unplanned) for production equipment and facilities, basic PLC/ Ladder Logic/ HMI, and fabrication.
- Investigate and communicate root cause failure analysis, including recommending and implementing resolutions.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Adheres to safety/GMP standards, ensuring a safe work environment and reporting food safety issues to site leadership.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED or high school equivalency
- 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Communicates effectively, orally and written, across all departments and promotes teamwork and team discussions.
- Technical/Functional: Basic mechanic skills, basic electrical skills, performing breakdown analyses, basic and major equipment rebuilds, basic troubleshooting, advanced equipment adjustments, mechanical and electrical maintenance (both planned and unplanned) for production equipment, facilities, and fabrication.
- Sense of responsibility, teamwork, accountability, and adaptability.
- Demonstrates ability to methodically analyze and correct problems of a varied nature on a wide range of equipment and support systems.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds up to 70% of the time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in extreme heat (non-weather) up to 50% of the time.
- Ability to become a certified forklift operator.
- Must be agile enough to maneuver around equipment, climb stairs, and go up and down ladders to reach various equipment.
- Ability to work up to heights of 45 ft. on material handling equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Must have knowledge of Planned Maintenance practices.
- Demonstrate process improvement ability and leadership.
- Must be able to successfully work individually and as part of a team.
- PAPR/Respirator may be required.
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift – hours can vary.
- Ability to work overtime daily and on weekends, sometimes with minimal notice.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A Technical Degree or certificate in industrial maintenance.
- Basic PLC/Ladder Logic/ and HMI.
