Mechanic
About the role
The Shop Mechanic/Welder position at Cascade Drilling, LP is dedicated to providing excellence in the assembly and fabrication of environmental equipment. This role involves working in a team environment and requires proficiency in welding techniques and reading mechanical drawings.
Responsibilities
- Proficient in welding techniques and knowledge of materials for welding of various steel alloys, aluminum, and other metals
- Working knowledge of weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.) and conventional and precision measuring instruments
- Perform all necessary welding including auger and bit maintenance and repairs, fabrication, and special projects
- Keep welding area clean and organized
- Perform service runs for field crews and shop as assigned
- Repair and maintain all drill rigs, trucks, trailers, and other equipment
- Complete paperwork for all repairs and maintenance and maintain records
- Assist with other labor and mechanical needs
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- A high school degree or equivalent is required
- Technical welding certification from a recognized trade school (apprenticeship may substitute for certification)
- At least one year of welding and maintaining capital equipment
- Additional knowledge of construction, machining, mechanical diagnostics, etc. is helpful
- Working knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), general computer skills a must
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand close to 100% of the time
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more
- Must be able to operate welders, grinders, metal cutting saws, torches, and other hand tools
- Must be able to bend, twist, lift overhead, hold arms steady at shoulder height, walk, and grasp
- Plane and car travel may be required when working off-site

Pay
$22 - $26 per hour
Schedule
Hours of work are 40+ per week
