Meat Team Leader Assistant
Job Responsibilities
- Aid the Meat Manager in overseeing the Meat Department by writing orders, assigning tasks, and ensuring the department operates efficiently.
- Assist customers in selecting and cutting various meat cuts, and organize them in sales cases.
- Maintain product levels in sales cases by regularly inspecting stock and preparing items for display.
- Ensure compliance with out-of-stock goals by adhering to established procedures.
- Develop and mentor Team Members, identifying potential for advancement through the Management Development Process.
- Understand and comply with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and perform tasks such as unloading and checking in orders.
- Stock frozen foods and lunch meats in sales cases, and unload deliveries in coolers and freezers.
- Maintain the cold-chain process and ensure proper sanitation.
- Model and promote adherence to safety protocols, including those mandated by the Health Department, HACCP, OSHA, and company policies.
- Share food knowledge and actively engage in suggestive selling techniques.
- Provide excellent customer service, demonstrating integrity and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Participate in and support a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils, floors, and ensure sanitation regulations are met.

Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Meat operations or a related field.
- Prior management experience in Meat operations or a related field.
- Customer Service Experience.
- Knowledge of Market District meat operational procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret Profit and Loss statements.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Meat cutting certification.
Skills
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting financial reports.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
