Meat Department Lead

Role Overview: This position involves leading daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff training, adequate staffing, and adherence to company standards and goals. Key responsibilities include properly cutting and preparing meats, managing inventory for freshness and quality, and validating received orders. The role also entails supervising a team to ensure efficient stocking, production, and product quality, while maintaining a clean and attractive department environment. Key Duties: Manage staffing, training, performance, and development of associates; implement work schedules and labor controls; ensure food safety and safety guidelines are followed; develop forecasts and meet key performance indicators; participate in daily huddles; maintain department standards; and assist in implementing company policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include managing inventory, executing promotional activities, and supporting other departments as needed. Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma or GED; ability to read, write, and interpret documents; basic math skills; knowledge of suggestive selling and product details preferred; detail-oriented with basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets). Physical & Environmental Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in varied temperatures typical of retail environments.
