This is a fully onsite role based at our BioAnalytical facility in Richmond, VA. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Relocation assistance is not provided for this position. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a drug screening.

About the Role

As a Materials Coordinator, you will play a key role in aiding the flow of raw materials from the dock door to our labs. You will also participate in providing shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment services for samples, inventory, materials, supplies, parts, and equipment at the assigned facility(s).

Responsibilities

  • Perform stockroom duties including receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, replenishments, and other functions according to business requirements.
  • Receive materials and/or finished goods daily, verifying quality, type, amount, and documentation (e.g., packing list).
  • Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.
  • Deliver direct shipment orders to end users on campus as required.
  • Operate handheld devices such as tablets and barcode scanners.
  • Communicate customer issues or potential problems to supervisor/manager.
  • Access and utilize PPD Intranet and SharePoint document management system.
  • Follow well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Take direction from Site Supervisor/Manager (and Team Lead) regarding daily duties.
  • Perform and document actions within the company ERP system.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
  • Previous experience (comparable to at least 2 years) or a combination of appropriate education, training, and directly related experience.
  • Ability to make commitments, track, and communicate progress, and follow through until completion.
  • Proficient PC skills and ability to use Windows-based software (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach in all duties.
  • Ability to self-manage and operate independently.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in completing work assignments.
  • Operating skills to use handheld devices and enter data in various systems.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures, and ability to interpret team metrics.
  • Able to lift and move objects up to 40 lbs without assistance.
  • Ability to work in cold room/freezers (-22°F/-6°C), laboratory settings, office, and warehouse environments.
  • Some degree of PPE required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.).
  • Able to communicate, receive, and understand information with diverse groups of people.
  • Able to work upright and stationary for typical working hours.
  • May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments.
  • Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, ~8AM-5PM.
