Materials Coordinator

About the Role

The Materials Coordinator/CCO performs all duties necessary for the shipping of outgoing and customer returned finished goods. This role operates and utilizes numerous computer database systems, assembles, certifies, issues, and ensures appropriate documentation accompanies shipments. The position coordinates movement of trailer loads to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective results.

Responsibilities

• Ensures department and Owens Corning safety rules are followed, including PPE usage.
• Performs clerical duties required for shipping and receiving of materials, including document preparation for product shipment by truck, rail, air, and parcel service (e.g., producing pick lists, processing orders on computer, forwarding paperwork to appropriate personnel, export documentation).
• Operates and utilizes computerized SAP to input and retrieve data, and prints required reports to assign proper loading points for all shipments to maximize cost savings.
• Operates computer terminal to retrieve and process data, including word processing software and production data.
• Assembles data, performs calculations, and issues documents in accordance with customer requirements.
• Communicates shipping information to customers, warehouse personnel, outside warehouse personnel, and Materials Lead.
• Completes records and reports (e.g., purchase orders, bills of lading) and maintains filing appropriately.
• Operates forklift as required.
• Packs materials for shipment as required.
• Assists in taking inventory (e.g., gloves, overalls, knives).
• Ensures all cycle counting is complete and accurate.
• Documents, tracks, and files any paperwork required for related job duties.
• Monitors warehouse compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Provides back-up coverage for functional areas as requested by leadership.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or training in an industrial environment.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Office management, warehouse, shipping/receiving experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have the right to work in the U.S.

• Previous Kronos experience.
• SAP knowledge.
• Familiarity with USPS, FedEx, and other shipping systems is a plus.
• Logic, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Familiar with Six Sigma, TPM, and 5S practices.
• Ability to achieve results quickly, both individually and through teams.
• Proactive in anticipating team needs and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency.
• Must maintain schedule flexibility to ensure smooth production.
