About the role

Mr. Handyman of Northern Virginia is looking for an experienced residential handyman with 15 or more years in the trade. We want someone who takes pride in their work, knows how to deal with customers and is looking for steady, year-round work. We provide the customers, scheduled jobs, company van and support. You bring your experience, your tools and your know-how. This is a hands-on position for someone who wants to keep doing the work, not spend the day behind a desk managing crews and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Handle residential repairs, maintenance and home improvement projects
• Put your skills to work in carpentry, drywall, painting, doors, trim, flooring and general home repairs
• Take care of light plumbing and electrical repairs within your qualifications
• Troubleshoot problems and figure out the right way to make repairs
• Prepare, present and sell your own estimates
• Communicate with homeowners and keep them informed about the work being done
• Document completed work with photos and job notes
• Keep your work area clean and treat every customer's home with respect

Requirements

• 15+ years of hands-on residential construction, handyman or home repair experience
• A well-rounded skill set and the ability to work independently
• Your own professional tools and the knowledge to use them
• Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to get the job done right
• A professional attitude and the ability to communicate with customers
• A valid driver's license and a good driving record
• Ability to write and present estimates for residential repair work
• You live in Northern Virginia, preferably within our service area from Arlington to Haymarket
• Fluent English is required

Pay

$25–$45+ per hour, based on experience.

Schedule

Day shift, Monday–Friday, with one Saturday per month. Steady, year-round work.
