Mass Tort Paralegal

Job Details

• Responsibilities:
  • Manage a significant caseload of mass tort cases, ensuring all cases are handled timely and accurately.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents under the supervision of attorneys.
  • Cook up and manage scheduling for trials, depositions, and meetings.
  • Provide comprehensive trial support, including preparation of trial exhibits and coordination of witness testimony.
  • Participate in the discovery process, including the preparation of discovery requests and responses.
  • Request, review, and summarize medical records and other case materials.
  • Aid in the management of multi-district litigation (MDL) cases.
  • Conduct detailed research on product liability cases and provide summarized reports to attorneys.
  • Coordinate communication with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
  • Prepare for trial by organizing exhibits, assisting with witness preparation, managing trial files, and providing in-courtroom assistance as needed.
• Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with specific experience in mass tort litigation.
  • A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved institution or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Strong knowledge of the discovery process and trial preparation.
  • Experience in managing mass tort caseloads and multi-district litigation.
  • Familiarity with medical records, their request, and review processes.
  • Proficiency in legal research, particularly in the area of product liability.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
