Job Details
- Responsibilities:
- Manage a significant caseload of mass tort cases, ensuring all cases are handled timely and accurately.
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents under the supervision of attorneys.
- Cook up and manage scheduling for trials, depositions, and meetings.
- Provide comprehensive trial support, including preparation of trial exhibits and coordination of witness testimony.
- Participate in the discovery process, including the preparation of discovery requests and responses.
- Request, review, and summarize medical records and other case materials.
- Aid in the management of multi-district litigation (MDL) cases.
- Conduct detailed research on product liability cases and provide summarized reports to attorneys.
- Coordinate communication with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
- Prepare for trial by organizing exhibits, assisting with witness preparation, managing trial files, and providing in-courtroom assistance as needed.
- Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with specific experience in mass tort litigation.
- A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved institution or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Strong knowledge of the discovery process and trial preparation.
- Experience in managing mass tort caseloads and multi-district litigation.
- Familiarity with medical records, their request, and review processes.
- Proficiency in legal research, particularly in the area of product liability.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
