About the role

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices globally. We are currently seeking a Marketing & Business Development Coordinator in our Marketing department, reporting directly to the Marketing & Business Development Manager. This role will reside in the New York office with hybrid work capabilities and will be responsible for meeting the marketing needs of the New York and Philadelphia offices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and distribute sporting and concert event tickets.
  • Assist with practice and office-related sponsorships, events, dinners, memberships and community involvement, including:
    • Coordinating invitation and RSVP lists.
    • Preparing event collateral such as name badges.
    • Liaising with vendors.
    • Ordering food and beverages.
    • Running event logistics.
    • Acting as on-site host and coordinating registration.
  • Work with the marketing and design teams to prepare community support advertisements, invitations, and other one-off print items.
  • Assist in the new lawyer onboarding process, including:
    • Coordinating photoshoots.
    • Drafting biographies and client announcements.
  • Research firm deals, external client events, and programs for the preparation of a monthly partner newsletter.
  • Maintain an accurate database of clients and other contacts to enable external communication.
  • Process invoices related to events, ticketing, sponsorships, and vendors.
  • Work with the Marketing & Business Development Managers to design and run impactful client events and maintain high-quality mailing lists and SalesForce data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least two years of related marketing experience; previous law firm or professional services experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong writing and editing abilities.
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with SalesForce a plus.
  • Strong work ethic and service orientation.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload, work independently and as a member of teams, and complete tasks under time pressure.
  • Poise, tact, and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.
  • Commitment to professional growth and development.

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this position in New York is $78,000–$95,000. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, years of experience, certifications, job-related knowledge and skills, business needs, and location.

Salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package, which may also include a full range of health and other insurance benefits, financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility), a discretionary bonus, and various paid time off benefits.
