Market Sales Manager

About The Opportunity

Our client is a successful, family-owned global wine and spirits business with a growing portfolio of distinctive premium brands sold in markets around the world. They are looking for a Market Sales Manager to develop their presence across Orange County, working closely with distributor partners and both on-premise and off-premise accounts to increase distribution, visibility, and consumer engagement. This is a highly field-focused market development role, combining distributor management, key account activity, merchandising, and brand activation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the company's portfolio across on-premise and off-premise accounts
• Build productive relationships with distributor DMs, AMs, KAMs, and wider sales teams
• Drive distribution, account penetration, and brand visibility throughout the market
• Support the planning and execution of market sales programs and brand initiatives
• Secure and maintain menu placements, displays, point-of-sale activity, and promotional programs
• Ensure pricing, distribution, POS, displays, menus, advertising, and promotions meet brand standards
• Visit accounts extensively throughout Orange County to identify opportunities and strengthen relationships
• Conduct merchandising and display-building activity within retail accounts
• Develop creative ways to engage consumers through sampling, demonstrations, and brand activations
• Ensure marketing materials and other brand assets are used effectively in the field
• Work closely with distributor teams to maintain focus and momentum behind the portfolio
• Provide market insight and feedback to support wider commercial and brand activity

Requirements

• 1-2+ years' experience within the wine and spirits industry
• Experience working across on-premise and off-premise accounts
• Understanding of the three-tier distribution model and experience working with distributor teams
• Experience supporting distribution growth, menu placements, merchandising, and account activation
• Strong relationship-building skills with distributor managers, account managers, key account teams, and retailers
• Confidence delivering brand presentations, product education, sampling, and consumer activations
• Proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to manage a market independently
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to be highly hands-on in the field, including merchandising and building displays
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Valid driving license and reliable transportation
• Ability to travel throughout the territory approximately 4.5-5 days per week
• Ability to undertake physical field activity, including lifting up to 65 lbs

Pay

Annual salary range: $75,000 – $90,000, plus a 25% bonus, car allowance, and excellent benefits package.
