About the role
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Manufacturing Technician to support the development of electronic hardware for advanced automotive applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide rapid prototyping and low-volume hardware assembly to support product development and accelerate design iterations.
- Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, assembling, testing, and validating electronic hardware while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and schedule.
- Support engineers during new product development by providing feedback on manufacturability and assembly processes.
- Affiliate in developing alternative assembly techniques and process improvements to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Perform quality inspections, including serving as a quality delegate to inspect work completed by other technicians.
- Perform final product testing in accordance with documented procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following established manufacturing processes.
- Accurately document work and communicate assembly or quality issues to engineering teams.
- Work independently on routine assignments while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly
- Previous experience supporting product development teams in a low-volume manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and engineering documentation
- Proficiency using standard assembly tools, including cutters, crimpers, soldering irons, pin insertion/removal tools, and torque tools
- Hands-on laboratory experience with soldering, power supplies, signal generators, and oscilloscopes
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed work instructions with minimal supervision
- IPC-610, IPC-620, or J-STD-001 certification or equivalent experience preferred
- Technical training such as soldering certification, trade school, or on-the-job training is preferred

Commitment
This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
