Manufacturing Technician

About the role

The repair depot technician’s primary focus is the RMA received from our customer base. They aid Technical Services and repair all current Teledyne API products by diagnosing mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using established procedures. The role involves determining cost-effective repair solutions to minimize customer downtime and providing feedback to engineering and production for product improvements. This position reports to the Repair Depot Supervisor and may interface with technical support and engineering to assist with troubleshooting for gas and particulate instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Handle RMA in a timely and efficient manner by collaborating with other technicians on the team.
• Identify and resolve problems promptly; gather and analyze information skillfully; work well in group problem-solving situations.
• Analyze, test, and repair electronic hardware using electrical schematics.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in software-controlled analog and digital surface mount circuit boards.
• Solve start-up and calibration problems and repair instruments for assigned products.
• Communicate with various departments to drive continuous improvement efforts on products and processes.
• Work on semi-routine assignments while recognizing the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a mechanical-related field or equivalent work experience with air pollution instrumentation and/or other mechanical/electro-mechanical machinery.
• 3-5 years of experience and/or education in a service-related environment, particularly oriented toward electronic, pneumatic, and electromechanical instrumentation.
• Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Strong problem-solving skills, digital and analog troubleshooting abilities, and high attention to detail.
• General computer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for customer and team interaction.

Environmental industry product knowledge is a plus.

Pay

Salary range: $44,500.00 – $59,300.00. The anticipated range is an estimate; actual compensation is determined based on factors including location, education, work experience, key skills, and position type.
