Manufacturing Technician

Full-time position working 12-hour rotating shifts in a high-temperature environment (up to 110°F). Example shift times: 5:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. – 5:30 a.m. Reports directly to the shift supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and perform repairs to ensure proper and consistent plant operations associated with furnace tapping.
• Adhere to all plant policies, procedures, and outside regulations to ensure environmental, safety, and health compliance.
• Work as scheduled to operate equipment associated with the tapping processes of all furnaces.
• Perform routine operational tasks during furnace delays and non-routine tasks during upset conditions.
• Assist with maintenance work throughout the plant and shutdown work as scheduled.
• Understand and implement Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) compliance requirements to ensure personal safety and environmental protection.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervision.
• Apply information from furnace tapper training and the Management of Change (MOC) process.
• Complete compliance training and gain a strong understanding of safety rules and the Emergency Response Plan.
• Use computer skills to communicate via email and submit work requests in the plant maintenance system.

Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift fifty pounds up to a height of three feet; requires stooping, standing, and walking.
• Good hand/eye coordination.
• Must successfully pass a drug screen test.
• Willing and able to work twelve-hour rotating shifts.
• Understand and implement ESH compliance requirements relevant to this position.
• Ability to collaborate to drive results in the department.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Three years of industrial, mechanical, electrical, or related experience.

Pay

Hourly rate of $31.46 during training, increasing to $40.58 upon successful completion of on-site training. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission.
