Manager Needed for School Food Service

Position Overview

Position Type: Full-time (40hrs)

Schedule: 10-Month Position (Summers Off)

Optional: Opportunity for 12 month employment available

Travel: Candidate must be willing and able to travel between multiple school district/sites as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Aid the Food Service Director with daily operations of school nutrition programs
• Place food and supply orders with approved vendors
• Run and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
• Maintain inventory levels and count and input inventory accurately
• Auxiliary in staff scheduling and labor management
• Create and update monthly school menus
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local school nutrition regulations
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
• Provide hands-on support in kitchens when needed, including food preparation and cooking
• Communicate effectively with school administrations, staff, and vendors

Qualifications

• Previous food service management or supervisory experience preferred
• Prior K-12 school food service experience is a strong plus
• Cooking and large-scale food preparation experience required
• ServSafe Certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• Strong organizational and computer skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• Experience with inventory systems, reporting, and menu planning preferred
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between districts/sites required
