Manager Ambulatory Services - Rea Village Pediatrics

Essential Functions

  • Schedules and registers patients, verifies insurance, performs clinical work-ups, treats patients, captures clinical information in the EMR, codes and charges services, schedules specialty referrals and ancillary services, collects co-pays and co-insurance payments.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, licensing, and accrediting standards and laws, as well as policies and procedures.
  • Promotes communication with providers and staff through daily huddles, meetings, and other means.
  • Analyzes data with the physician co-leader to improve performance, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the EMR/Canopy for improved preventive medicine and disease management.
  • Achieves goals related to appropriate care measures and meaningful use of the EMR.

Physical Requirements

  • Use of telephone and sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, and pulling a moderate amount of the time.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds intermittently.
  • Effective communication and concentration skills.
  • Ability to handle non-traditional hours.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical practice or completion of a practice manager training program, including managing financials.
  • Relevant certifications (MGMA, ACHE, or the Professional Association of Health Care Office Management) preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills in English.
  • Bilingual in other languages based on working location and relevant patient population preferred.
