About the role

This position will be located at Lake of the Ozarks State Park, 403 Hwy 134, Brumley MO 65017. Shift is Monday through Friday (five 8-hour days per week), 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (30-minute lunch break). Shifts may vary with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility. This position will require working occasional weekends nights, holidays, and special events, etc. Must be available to participate in meetings, workshops and seminars requiring overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
  • Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete, and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities, grounds, and cemeteries.
  • Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
  • Maintain a valid vehicle operator's license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
  • Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
  • Assist with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, herbicide application, and other natural or cultural activities as directed with the completion of Level 1 Prescribed Fire training.
  • May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.
  • Be able to walk long distances on uneven terrain in all kinds of weather and environmental conditions and can lift 25 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • This position may be required to obtain and maintain appropriate commercial operator's license, water/wastewater certifications, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required and if you do not currently possess this license/certification, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.

Qualifications

Equivalent to those typically gained by 1–3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience.) Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.
