About the role
We are seeking an individual to assist with maintenance on the west sections of Katy Trail State Park and the west section of the Rock Island Trail. This position will primarily work at Knob Noster State Park, located at 873 SE 10 Road, Knob Noster, MO 65336.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
- Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities and grounds.
- Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
- Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
- Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
- Basic computer and customer service skills for timekeeping and regular report tracking.
- Afford assistance with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, herbicide application, and other natural or cultural activities as directed; including completion of Level 1 Prescribed Fire training.
- May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.

Pay
The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed the salary range listed above.
Schedule
This position typically works Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. Shifts may vary occasionally with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility.
