Maintenance Generalist (1st Shift) Sedalia Plant

About the role

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, keeping machinery running, preventative maintenance, all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Must identify all parts, supplies and services required to maintain equipment in assigned area and completes work orders in a timely manner meeting or exceeding pre-established deadlines to reduce downtime and meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Lifting, reaching, rotating, walking, climbing, bending, and squatting throughout the shift.
• Working in environments that are cold, hot, wet, dusty, and noisy.
• Using basic hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, drill press, band saws, multi‑meter, and other tools.
• Performing the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 months mechanical experience, or enrollment/completion of an automotive/mechanical degree or training program.
• Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for at least 180 calendar days to be considered for rehire.
• Former Tyson Team Members terminated for gross misconduct are not eligible for rehire.
• Applicants who have worked at Tyson three or more times are not eligible for rehire.

Skills

• Proficiency with hand and power tools (drills, grinders, drill press, band saws, multi‑meter, etc.).
• Ability to read work orders and identify required parts, supplies, and services.
