Responsibilities

• Train to perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
• Rebuild equipment as determined necessary by supervisor
• Perform facility repairs within assigned area
• Make machine adjustments during production periods
• Repair equipment as necessary in the event of mechanical failure
• Learn and use the computerized maintenance management system
• Work in a fast-paced environment and communicate with proper personnel
• Abide by all safety regulations
• May be subject to shift or department rotation

Requirements

• Plant Maintenance Generalist: 3 months mechanical experience or enrolled/completed an automotive/mechanical degree or training
• All internal candidates considered first; if none selected, external candidates with prior experience in industrial maintenance and electrical, knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics, welding and fabrication are preferred
• Ability to learn troubleshooting skills and use the computerized maintenance program
• Must progress through the Maintenance Skills Training Program, passing all required levels within the allotted time frame per training policy; failure to pass results in change of pay, change of position, or possible termination
• Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days to be considered for rehire
• No rehire for former Team Members terminated for gross misconduct
• Individuals who have worked at Tyson three or more times are not eligible for rehire
