MAINT TECH - IN HOUSE MAINTENANCE

About the role

As a Maintenance Technician at Access, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of facilities and equipment across housing apartments, admin offices, and related sites. You will respond to work orders, perform preventive maintenance, and support various trades while collaborating with the site team.

Responsibilities

• Handle work orders from start to completion
• Inspect houses and admin buildings
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
• Schedule repairs
• Perform light plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, and light electrical tasks
• Conduct landscaping and snow removal as needed
• Operate motorized equipment such as snow removal equipment when trained
• Support other departments with moving/transferring office furniture or equipment
• Maintain safe upkeep of facilities and provide good customer service

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in general maintenance and a maintenance specialty
• Specialization in one or more trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, etc.)
• Understanding of basic troubleshooting principles for mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles
• Ability to handle painting and landscaping assignments to agency standards
• Willingness to improve skill set through informal apprenticeship
• Education: 3‑5 years’ experience in general maintenance (as noted)
