LPN - Per Diem/PRN

About the role

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient care utilizing the nursing process under supervision or the direction of a licensed healthcare professional. They ensure patient rights and confidentiality while coordinating care across departments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bedside nursing care in various hospital departments, including Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units.
• Float between multiple facilities and shifts, with flexibility to choose day or night shifts, and work without weekend or holiday requirements.
• Participate in the Gig Nursing Program, which involves scheduling a minimum number of hours, being available on short notice, and handling potential shift cancellations.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with patient confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, with graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
• Current LPN license in the state of practice, meeting all state board requirements.
• Recent bedside experience: at least 1 year for Medical-Surgical, 2 years for other specialties like ED or ICU.
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and PALS for critical care and emergency settings; IV certification.
• Preferred: Epic electronic health record experience.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds, stand, walk, and perform physical movements like reaching, bending, and kneeling.
