About the role

Haven Home Care has been a trusted provider of quality home care services since 1998, successfully serving the Akron‑Canton area for over 25 years. We are now expanding our proven care model to Eastern Ohio, bringing our established standards and reputation to Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties. This is an expansion role perfect for supplemental income, not primary employment. Initial hours will be minimal as we build our client base from the ground up; we may bring on about one new client a month, and some months none at all. Each new client means one open visit. After that, every active client receives a supervisory visit every 60 days, so the work grows as the client base grows.

Responsibilities

  • Complete open visits for new clients.
  • Conduct supervisory visits to check on Home Health Aides every 60 days.
  • Prepare accurate and thorough documentation according to agency standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct pre‑employment skills tests and written tests for Home Health Aide candidates.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
  • Current Ohio LPN license in good standing.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance that covers driving for work.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, skills test, and written nursing test.
  • Residence in Trumbull or Mahoning County preferred.

Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience in a home health agency or hospital setting (home health experience preferred).
  • Experience with scheduling, documentation, and compliance regulations is a plus but not required.

Skills

  • Excellent documentation and record‑keeping abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact professionally with clients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Knowledge of home care regulations and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and schedule visits efficiently.
  • Compassionate, client‑centered approach.
  • Reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Adaptability to different home environments and client situations.
  • Problem‑solving mindset.
  • Professional demeanor and boundary awareness.
  • Comfortable using a calculator.
  • Competent operation of company‑provided iPad with data plan.
  • Appropriate use of company‑provided name badge and cardigan with “Haven” logo.

Benefits

  • Flexible schedule.
  • Mileage reimbursed at $0.655 per mile.
  • Company provides iPad with data plan, name badge, and cardigan with “Haven” logo.
  • Note: Haven does not offer paid time off, health insurance, or a retirement plan.

Pay

  • $25 per supervisory visit.
  • $35 per open visit.
  • $35 per skills test.
  • $35 per hour of office time for any/all written tests.
  • Mileage reimbursement paid at $0.655 per mile.
  • You are paid per completed visit or task; there is no hourly wage and no guaranteed number of visits per week.
  • (If an hourly pay range appears on the job site, it is only because the site requires one.)

Schedule

Part‑time, variable hours. The number of visits is expected to grow as services expand in these counties. No fixed weekly hours; depends on client volume. Flexible scheduling based on client availability. No on‑call hours, but phone calls are required to schedule visits.
