About the role
Provide direct nursing care within the adult inpatient unit, working under RN supervision. Responsible for delivering safe patient care across diverse age groups, including neonate to geriatric. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, assist with tests and procedures, and ensure proper documentation. Support emergency measures, maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, and contribute to patient safety initiatives. Assist with routine treatments, medication administration (excluding IV push), and equipment management. Participate in training, orientation, and professional development activities. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and promote patient participation in their care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, direct patient care across multiple age groups
- Assist with tests, procedures, and emergency responses
- Document patient information accurately and maintain medical records
- Support environment safety and patient comfort
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Participate in staff training and contribute to quality improvement
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program with completed IV education
- Current LPN license in NM or reciprocal agreement
- CPR/BLS certification within 30 days
- No minimum experience required; bilingual skills are a plus
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving exerting significant force
- Work in environments with potential exposure to biohazards requiring PPE
