LPN - Inpatient

About the role

Provide direct nursing care within the neuroscience department, supporting patients across various age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Work under the supervision of RNs to deliver safe, patient-centered care aligned with hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care tasks such as oxygen therapy, IV setup, catheterization, and cardiac monitoring
• Administer medications following the Seven Rights, monitor outcomes, and document clinical findings
• Support preparation and assistance during tests, procedures, and emergency situations
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure a safe, therapeutic environment
• Participate in patient discharge planning and family education
• Engage in ongoing professional development and team training
• Follow patient safety protocols, report hazards, and advocate for patient participation in their care
• Maintain cleanliness of patient care areas and equipment
• Assist nursing staff and physicians with complex treatments as needed

Qualifications and Skills

• Graduation from an accredited LPN program
• Completion of IV training
• Licensed practical nurse or hold reciprocity in NM
• No minimum experience required
• Bilingual abilities in languages such as Spanish or Navajo are beneficial

Requirements

• Ability to perform heavy work involving lifting up to 100 pounds
• Exposure to biohazards requiring PPE
• TB testing
• Adherence to safety policies
