About the Role
This position provides direct nursing care within the adult inpatient admission unit, working under the supervision of RNs. The role emphasizes adherence to hospital policies, patient safety, and environment safety standards. The nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient education.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, direct patient care across multiple age groups
- Assist with tests, procedures, and emergency responses
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure patient safety protocols
- Participate in staff training, orientation, and professional development
- Assist with treatments and medication administration (excluding IV push)
- Provide patient education
- Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
Qualifications & Skills
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential in NM or reciprocal agreement
- Completion of an accredited LPN program and organization IV education
- CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to perform heavy physical work and work in potentially hazardous environments with PPE
- Preferred bilingual skills in English and other languages such as Spanish or local dialects
- Strong collaboration, communication, and safety awareness skills
