About the role
Provide direct nursing care to diverse patient populations under the supervision of an RN, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, age-specific patient care, including discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Assist with tests, procedures, and emergency measures, ensuring proper consent and safety protocols.
- Participate in orientation and training of new staff; maintain accurate medical records.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, ensuring equipment and room cleanliness.
- Support continuous professional development through educational activities.
- Follow patient safety policies, report hazards, errors, and near misses proactively.
- Assist with routine treatments, medication administration (excluding IV push), and clinical assessments.
- Identify clinical situations beyond scope and promptly notify RN or physician.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program with completed IV education training.
- Current CPR/BLS certification and licensure as an LPN in NM or reciprocity.
- No minimum experience required; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Physical ability to perform heavy work and work in environments with biohazards, chemicals, and PPE requirements.
