Responsibilities
- Delivers patient care as identified by the Scope of Care of the Urgent Care Center.
- Effective communication demonstrating Caring, Compassion, and Cultural awareness.
- Provides quality care using the LPN process and critical thinking skills.
- Able to function under stress and emergency situations.
- Promotes effective communications between patients, staff, physicians, and visitors.
- Performs surveillance exams: hearing tests, vision screening, spirometry, EKGs.
- Performs breath alcohol testing and urine drug screening.
- Proficient in vaccine administration and phlebotomy.
- Proficient in Urgent Care duties.
- Performs Urgent Care Tech/LPN duties as needed.
- Takes vital signs, prepares patient medical record for the provider.
- Accurately and efficiently performs specimen collections and testing as defined by laboratory policy and procedure manuals.
- Computer data entry and workflow monitoring.
- Maintains chain of custody for forensic collections.
- Discharges patients efficiently.
- Ensures accurate documentation.
- Ensures adequate supplies and is knowledgeable in operation of equipment.
- Maintains compliance with hospital/Urgent Care procedural standards.
- Supports and promotes JMC mission, vision, and values.
- Performs other departmental duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Accredited Nursing School for LPN.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of Florida.
- American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers.
- Strong knowledge of Urgent Care principles.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent verbal and written skills.
Skills
- Knowledge of Urgent Care injuries and illnesses.
- Proficiency in vaccine administration and phlebotomy.
- Ability to perform Urgent Care Tech/LPN duties.
- Ability to take vital signs, prepare patient medical records, and perform specimen collections and testing.
- Proficiency in computer data entry and workflow monitoring.
- Ability to assist in lifting patients and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment, make sound decisions, and maintain attention to detail.
