LPN - Cardiac Surgery - Full Time

About the Role

This role involves providing nursing care in a 24-bed Cardiac Surgery Unit, supporting pre- and post-operative cardiac patients, those with cardiac dysrhythmias, vascular surgery patients, and medical overflow. The nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including educators, PCA/PCTs, case managers, respiratory therapists, dieticians, PT/OT, and speech therapists.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in a specialized cardiac and vascular setting.
• Support clinical procedures.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent experience.
• Current LPN license meeting state requirements.
• Certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, PEARS, or unit-specific credentials may be required or expected to be obtained within designated timeframes.
• LPNs in Missouri must complete IV certification within three months if not already certified.

Skills & Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Perform physical tasks including gripping, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.
