About the role
Provide customer service by acknowledging customers as they enter and exit the store, answer questions, assist with deactivation of electronic article surveillance devices, and monitor the Greeter Kiosk.

- Based in Portland, Oregon, Fred Meyer merged with The Kroger Company in 1998. Today, we're proudly serving Fred Meyer customers in over 120 stores throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska.
- Work within a fast-paced environment and adhere to strict time frames and deadlines.
- Draw conclusions from customer interactions and respond appropriately.
- Speak a second language to enhance communication with customers.
- Model customer-first behavior and encourage associates to do the same.
- Acknowledge customers in a friendly manner as they enter and exit the store.
- Maneuver in the store's entry and exit areas politely asking customers to see their receipts for non-bagged items and directing them to registers when necessary.
- Assist customers with deactivating EAS devices, answering questions, and directing customers to sections within the store.
- Communicate with the district Asset Protection (AP) manager/district AP specialists regarding suspicious behavior.
- Avoid locking bascarts with Purcheck and report safety concerns to supervisor.
- Comply with corporate policies and promote company initiatives.
- Maintain flexibility to work any shift.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to draw conclusions.
Qualifications
- Desired Ability to speak a second language.
