Logistics IT Specialist-Shepherdsville, KY
About the role
Provide frontline support for warehouse systems by serving as the primary liaison between IT, regional operations leadership, and warehouse floor users. Responsible for troubleshooting system issues, supporting WMS functionality, maintaining master data, training local users, and escalating technical problems to corporate IT as needed. Ensure smooth and efficient daily warehouse operations through proactive system monitoring and issue prevention.
Responsibilities
- Act as primary on-site contact for warehouse system issues, providing first-level troubleshooting and escalating to IT as needed.
- Monitor system performance and maintain WMS data, including location master data, SKUs, and system configurations.
- Support system updates, validate setups, and ensure alignment with customer and operational requirements.
- Deliver user support and training for warehouse staff, including onboarding and new system features.
- Maintain process documentation, update SOPs, and support accurate reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations leaders and corporate IT, on system upgrades and implementations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, or similar environment.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and related operational technology (RF scanners, printers, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose and resolve system or process-related errors.
- Working knowledge of customer requirements and how they translate into system configuration.
- Ability to bridge gaps between system capabilities and operational workflows.
- Strong interpersonal skills—including communication, teamwork, customer service, and a positive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in WMS or related fields are a plus.
