About the role
The HrR Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources Department and helping to meet staffing goals. This position involves managing recruiting and staffing processes, conducting new hire orientations, and handling various HR projects and special assignments.
Responsibilities
- Manage recruiting / staffing processes and activities
- Conduct new hire orientations and HR related training sessions
- Compile and analyze employment related information and prepare personnel / staffing reports
- Conduct exit interviews
- Compile information for and attend unemployment hearings
- Compile and maintain Diversity / EEO reports
- Maintain and update personnel and medical files for each employee
- Update employee files and process personnel status forms in order to document personnel actions
- Conduct internal audits on personnel files
- Create, maintain, and update RAO position profiles
- Compile and maintain records for use in employee benefits administration
- Serve as the contact with the temporary agencies and the temporary employees; manage all temporary staffing relationships and coordinate all needed communication between KN and outside agencies
- Manage and administer the RAO safety shoe program
- Maintain and update Human Resources bulletin boards
- Afford assistance with any special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA / BS) from four-year college or university or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to establish priorities and to function in a multi-task oriented environment
- Two years experience with computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to solve practical problems and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
