Locum Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Associate

About the Role

This position is for a Physician Assistant (PA) specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, providing inpatient coverage with comprehensive patient rounding, emergency consultations, and managing cardiovascular and thoracic cases. You will work collaboratively with a surgeon and other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), handling an average of 8 adult patients daily using EPIC EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour non-restrictive call coverage from Friday to Monday mornings, with a 30-minute recall.
• Conduct comprehensive patient rounding and emergency consultations.
• Manage cardiovascular and thoracic cases in a modern facility equipped for advanced CVICU care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing teams, and other APPs to support a busy surgical service line.
• Contribute to sustainable 24/7 operations in the cardiothoracic surgery department.

Requirements

• Vein harvesting certification.
• Active Georgia medical licensure.
