Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Associate - Locum Coverage

About the Role

The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide inpatient cardiothoracic surgery coverage, including comprehensive patient rounding, emergency consultations, and case management for cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. The role involves working collaboratively with a surgeon and other Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), utilizing the EPIC EMR system, and managing an average of 8 patients daily. It requires handling urgent cases with a 30-minute recall and providing 24-hour call coverage during weekends, specifically from Friday through Monday morning. This position supports a modern medical center with dedicated CVICU care, ensuring continuous 24/7 operations in a busy surgical service line.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient rounds and manage cardiothoracic surgical cases

Requirements

• Vein harvesting certification
• Georgia medical licensure
• Prescriptive authority
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
