Local Delivery Driver (Class A w/Airbrakes & Hazmat)

About the role

We are hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Harvey, LA. The position involves operating a company-provided straight or box truck to safely and reliably deliver compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business partners. Essential duties include cylinder handling, record keeping, and warehouse support.

Responsibilities

  • Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
  • Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt.
  • Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
  • Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
  • Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid LA Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.
  • One (1) year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
  • In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to obtain a Forklift/Moffett operator certification.

Pay

$26 per hour with potential for monthly bonus.

Schedule

Monday- Friday, Day Shift.
