Local Delivery Driver (CDL w/Hazmat)

About the role

We are hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Giddings, TX. The position requires a valid TX Class A or B Commercial Driver's License, valid Medical Examiner's Card, Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications, and one year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five years. The role involves safely loading, delivering, and unloading cylinders containing compressed gases, managing the flow of cylinders, and building lasting relationships with customers.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt.
• Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Requirements

• Valid TX Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.
• One year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five years.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
• In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.

Skills

Essential skills include the ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets, routine lifting abilities, and adherence to safety standards and regulations.

Pay

$28 per hour with bonus potential.

Monday- Friday, Day Shift.
