Local Delivery Driver (CDL A w/Hazmat)

About the role

We are hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Grand Prairie, TX. The position requires a valid TX Class A Commercial Driver’s License, valid Medical Examiner's Card, Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications, and one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years. Candidates should be at least 21 years old and proficient in navigating and lifting heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt.
• Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Requirements

• Valid TX Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.
• One (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years.
• Two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years or a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
• Proficiency in navigating and comprehending material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Comfortable operating vehicles with hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is part of our daily operations.
• Availability to support the team with occasional overtime if necessary.
• Ability to obtain and maintain collaborative safety credentials for customer site access.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years or older.
• Proficiency in operating heavy machinery (Forklift/Moffett).

Pay

$27.50 per hour with potential for quarterly bonuses.

Monday- Friday, Day Shift.
