Local Delivery Driver (CDL A)

About the role

We are hiring a Local Delivery Driver in Harrisburg, PA. The position offers a starting pay of $29/hr, Monday - Friday, Day Shift, with quarterly bonus potential. Responsibilities

• Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations.
• Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt.
• Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling.
• Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
• Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed.

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
• Hazmat Endorsement (or willing to obtain).
• One (1) year of prior Class A professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.
• In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school.
• Must be at least 21 years or older.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
• Ability to routinely lift 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
• Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
• Must be able to obtain a forklift operator certification.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service. You must be able to work flexible hours and travel to various locations as needed. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but not required.
