Lift Operator-202/27 Season

About the role

Sunday River is looking for Lift Operators for the 2026/27 season. Our fun and diverse team of operators works both indoors and outdoors while assisting guests at the ski lifts. The role offers a great mix of social interaction and mountain solitude, with flexible part-time and full-time schedules. While the ability to ski or snowboard is not required, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the slopes while working.

Responsibilities

• Participate in 3-day Lift Operation training, follow-up training, and team meetings
• Complete pre-operational lift checks with assistance and guidance from the Lift Maintenance department
• Shovel snow, pick ice, and groom ski surfaces around lifts
• Set up and remove signs, corrals, and other equipment to assist guests with staging, loading, and unloading
• Meet and greet guests
• Operate lifts in accordance with safety protocols and procedures
• Safely load and unload guests
• Observe all guests getting on and off lifts and respond to unsafe situations
• Assist with crowd control and lift ticket checking
• Serve as a Sunday River Ambassador, ready to converse with guests
• Communicate effectively with other departments on safety issues, mechanical problems, and general inquiries

Requirements

• No prior experience required, but ski resort knowledge is helpful
• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Pay

Wages range from $15.50 to $20 per hour, depending on experience.
