About the role
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Community Care Licensing Division is seeking Licensing Program Analysts for the Santa Rosa Child Care Regional Office. The Child Care Program ensures the health and safety of children in care by monitoring licensed facilities, providing technical assistance, and enforcing health and safety standards. CDSS is guided by principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections and evaluate licensed and unlicensed child care facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Investigate complaints and review applications for child care facilities.
- Verify qualifications of applicants and licensees, and provide technical assistance to correct deficiencies.
- Lead orientations, analyze policies and regulations, and prepare detailed reports and recommendations.
- Support administrative actions such as license approvals, denials, and revocations.
- Participate in legal processes when necessary and contribute to program development.
- Engage in ongoing training, special projects, and community outreach efforts.
Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.
- Completion of employment history on the application form (STD 678); resumes will not substitute for this requirement.
- If meeting minimum qualifications with education, unofficial transcripts must be included for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon hire.
- Candidates residing outside California may interview but must provide proof of California residency prior to appointment.
- This position is subject to fingerprinting clearance by the Department of Justice and is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code.
Pay
- Range A: $3,938.00 - $5,090.00 per month
- Range B: $4,262.00 - $5,561.00 per month
- Range C: $5,111.00 - $6,692.00 per month
- Range D: $5,598.00 - $7,351.00 per month
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
