Must hold or be eligible for Maine DOE Educational Technician III Certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong communication, tech-proficiency, and organizational skills.
- A high level of ethical behavior and commitment to student confidentiality is strictly required.
- Library & Media Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the library media center, including checking materials in/out, shelving, shelving maintenance, and processing/cataloging new print and digital resources.
- Student & Staff Support: Assist students and faculty in locating research materials, books, and digital media appropriate to their academic and reading levels.
- Programming: Partner with classroom teachers and content specialists to deliver engaging story hours, library orientations, and media instruction.
- Partner closely with the district's Librarians: Ensure the consistent advancement of material collections, institutional policies, and operational workflows.
- Literacy Intervention Collaborate: With students and teachers in grades 3 through 6 to improve literacy achievement.
- Instruction: Provide support to help students build essential reading skills such as comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary development.
- Educational Technology Support: Digital Literacy: Help students navigate online learning tools, databases, and digital research platforms safely and effectively. Tech Assistance: Provide baseline troubleshooting support for student devices and library media equipment.
