Legal Recruiting Manager
Job Description Summary
The Legal Recruiting Manager will lead and execute the law student recruiting strategy and annual summer program. Secondary duties include handling day-to-day functions for lateral associate and counsel hires. Reporting to the Director of Attorney Recruiting, this role works closely with the Firm’s Hiring Partners, Practice Area Leaders, and Recruiting Department colleagues. Based in either Silicon Valley or San Francisco, CA, this is a full-time exempt role requiring 2–3 days of in-office presence per week.
Law Student Recruiting
- Oversee 1L and 2L law student recruitment processes across all offices.
- Create strategies and timelines for campus recruitment.
- Manage the review and selection of candidates for interviews, screening, and callback interview processes.
- Follow up post-offer.
- Manage national recruiting team for the Summer Associate Program.
- Onboard, orient, train, and evaluate Summer Associates.
- Create and execute strategies for law school outreach and student engagement activities.
- Collaborate with recruiting teams across the U.S. to ensure firmwide consistency.
- Oversee 3L law school student recruiting.
Lateral Attorney Recruiting
- Handle day-to-day planning in lateral associate recruiting operations.
- Build networks with legal industry contacts, search firms, and local law schools.
- Analyze and interpret firmwide and industry data.
- Stay updated on lateral hiring trends and law firm news.
General
- Provide day-to-day work direction and professional development for recruiting coordinator(s) and/or recruiting assistant(s).
- Collaborate with other administrative departments in developing marketing materials, website content for recruiting purposes, and social media strategy.

- Legal experience at a major law firm and/or in-house legal department preferred.
- Knowledge of viRecruit, viWork Allocation, Smartsheet, and Workday a plus.

Temporary employees are generally not entitled to these benefits. The Anticipated Range For This Position Is $126,000 - $189,000 Depending on the role, the actual base salary offered may depend upon a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. A discretionary bonus for eligible employees may also be available based on performance. Additional information about employee eligibility for benefits and discretionary bonus will be made available upon request.
