POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as the legal assistant for the General Counsel’s office and the office manager for the division, which includes University Compliance, Risk Management, and the Office of General Counsel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials with careful attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
- Knowledge of subpoena management and response.
- Knowledge of legal contracts, agreements, and settlement procedures and documentation.
- Ability to draft legal documents.
- Knowledge of the principles and procedures of legal research.
- Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Acrobat, internet search engines, and able to learn cloud-based contract management system and Workday (University Enterprise Resource Planning system).
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and work independently and under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and efficiency.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Paralegal certificate preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ experience as a legal assistant in an in-house legal department or law firm, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time; Exempt position
Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM
SALARY STRUCTURE
Pay Grade 7 ($58,011 to $86,299 annually)
