Lecturer Pool - Literature and Writing Studies AY26/27

California State University San Marcos invites applications on an ongoing basis for part-time lecturer positions in the Department of Literature and Writing Studies for the 2026/2027 academic year. Appointments may range from one day to a full semester, with the possibility of rehiring. This pool is valid only for the current academic year and closes May 31st.

Minimum Qualifications

• A doctorate or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
• Employment is contingent upon working in the State of California, as per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community through teaching and, as applicable, service.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with degree level and experience, with an anticipated hiring range of $5,507 - $8,000 per full-time month. The following salary ranges apply to the Lecturer – Academic Year classification:

• Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month
• Lecturer B - AY: $6,221 - $13,224 per full-time month

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range.
