Lecturer Pool for Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (AY 26-27)

About the role

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences offers a Bachelor of Science degree and an accredited Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology. There are approximately 200 majors and six regular faculty.

Responsibilities

• Teaching one or more basic and advanced course(s) for undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology.
• Courses may be taught at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/or online.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in communication disorders, and academic and practical expertise.
• University teaching experience is preferred.
• CA State License & Board Certification by ASHA in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology is preferred.
• Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the content they teach/supervise, the current context of public schooling, diversity in society, and effective professional practices in teaching and learning, scholarship, and service.

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.

Pay

Rank and salary: Lecturer. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience.

Schedule

Date of appointment: Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026; Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.
